Upon graduating from Queen’s University Belfast with a BSc Honors Degree in Computing & Information Technology in 2015, I was soon able to secure a Front-end Developer position with Urban Outfitters, Inc. This role involved working alongside various in-house teams, including SEO specialists and the Digital Marketing team to implement responsive development across three websites (UK, FR, DE). While working in this role I got a strong grasp of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery.
After a year with the company, I was promoted to Digital Content Coordinator. This position involved more input surrounding UX/UI design, along with increased responsibility for the overall performance, look and feel of the three websites. Please see the Portfolio section below for examples of web-pages that I helped to redesign and build.
Whenever I reached two years with Urban Outfitters, Inc., I was itching for a new challenge and left London on a one-way ticket to Australia! During my time here, I worked in the construction industry in Sydney and also completed my 88 days of regional farming work so that I could obtain a second year visa. The opportunity to try something completely different like construction work was something that I enjoyed. However, I could not contain my passion for Web Development!
My role at NAB - National Australia Bank as a Frontend Developer was a massive opportunity to work for a company that is one of the ‘Big 4’ banks in Australia. The role further enhanced my abilities with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery and UX/UI Design, as well as my ability to work alongside talented team members and negotiate with the company's various internal and external stakeholders.
During my time here, I designed and developed various web pages – ranging from small changes to extensive rebuilds. Please see examples of my work below, including Apple Pay were I was responsible for designing and building the web page.
I am now based in the North West of England, as a Mid-Level Frontend Developer with FOOTASYLUM.
